I went to Church

Last Saturday, I went to Jerry's church to celebrate Easters. I went with Nick to support Jerry playing the drums for the Easters meeting. I am not a Christian (might be one in the future, who knows) but I still went to support him as a friend. I grabbed the opportunity to the church as I could learn a thing or two about Christians. I don't have a religion myself although I pray to Guan Yin Ma at home. I'm not a religious person for starters. My 'own' religion does not forbid me from attending any other religious events. I think my dress code startled everyone who was there on Saturday. I did not know that when one person attends church, we actually have to wear pants and shoes. I did not mean to disrespect the church and the Christians but I did not have a clue. Jerry did not send the memo to me! I felt a bit pressured as I got stares from the crowd. The pressure does not feel good. Jerry's mum was being nice, so was his dad. I somehow felt that there was this pressure, of them asking me to join the religion. I hope I have somewhat interpreted things wrongly (like I always do). I will always be open minded about other religions because I strongly believe that all religions are good and their existence is due to one simple word, Faith. I will try to attend more religious events but again, religious events are always packed with people. Facing the crowd is not my favourite thing to do. All I want to do is just to understand their religion. By understanding their religion, I will not disrespect them or joke about them (although occasionally I do but it's not on purpose). Living in a multiracial country, if we really want to move forward, we have to start understanding each other's needs instead of being so full of ourselves. More on Malaysia in the future, I am truly disappointed by the current act of Malays. If you do not know what is happening, Perkasa is forming 1Melayu or 1Malay sorta thing. Good stuff. You ignorants will never be able to improve.
